Hugh Laurie is an extremely multitalented fellow. He writes novels too. Enough Hugh, you’re making me feel lazy.

He's always been hilarious... I don't know if you got this, & ironically the only video I could find is from BBC America...

I bet most of America shat emselves when they realised he's just faking the accent to please them

Oh yes I was just jumping for joy even though I already knew he was British. How about you stop being an ignorant douche?
  • 26-Nov-2007 10:23 AM

    ah good old georgie porgie.
  • 28-Nov-2007 3:05 PM
ignorant schmuck. he faked the american accent to get the part. they turned him down on his first audition so he sent in a tape with that deplorable accent and the said "this dude FTW!" he didn't do it in any way to "please the americans." you're the reason we beat the british twice. the queen FTL!

"you're the reason we beat the british twice"

    what does that mean exactly?
  • 28-Nov-2007 5:14 PM
How many times did the Americans beat the British to gain independence? Twice. That's probably the reference.
  • 29-Nov-2007 3:25 AM
....he said in an interview that the american accent was the hardest thing he's had to do, and it's not one of those things that gets easier the more you do it, every day it's just as hard as the first day....good ole Hugh, such a hard worker. :-D

Yeah, I thought that's what Mr Anonymous was getting at. It's good to know the US hasn't lost its love of starting pointless fights, despite all the misery it's causing around the world.

Go back to reading your war comics you moron.

Most Americans already knew he was British. I've been a fan of the Black Adder series for quite some time as it had been aired on PBS over decade ago. He fakes the accent because he wants to be more like us.

Or, and tell me if this is a crazy idea, because the character is American. What's this debate about anyway? Putting on an accent is hardly world news.
