Substance 1st Birthday! - Cup Eve @ Roxanne Parlor



After a two month break the Substance crew are ready to turn up the heat and what better way to do it with a f*ck off big birthday bash hosted by Roxanne's Parlour! What was once the old Cage nightclub has been unbelievably re modelled and the Substance crew are preparing to reap unholy havoc for the mere sake of it being our Birthday. Not prepared to do it alone we have invited the creme of Melbourne's "Cirque de DJ" to smash sounds sideways. We also welcome our first DJ Exchange from our sister club Invlolved in QLD; DJ Travis Lucas.
It's only cup eve once a year and the best excuse to be seedy, suspect and squinty eyed in front of the TV would have to be that you have just messed ya'self at our first birthday. So tell your friends, let them tell their friends, and then tell their friends mothers to get their asses down to Substance 1st birthday and help us celebrate that we made it through a year and we're getting ready for the many more to come!

 A little info about our main headliner - Travis Lucas!!


Travis Lucas has been on the Dj scene for a number of years. His career was kicked off in outstanding style as a resident with one of the UK's super club nights "Platform 12". Made resident after two gigs and invited to play at some of the biggest clubs and with some of the most well respected DJs throughout London. After two and a half years of amazing experiences with Platform 12 playing along side some of the industry greats at some of the most high profile of clubs, it was time to return home to the Gold Coast. Within a few months of returning to the Coast he had created his own club night called Involved. After kicking things off with an amazing boat party in May of 2007, the Involved nights have gained a huge following and are highly respected in the local scene packing out it's regular venue (The Ruby Tramp) time and time again. Every event has a sense of excitement about it with new DJs from the local, interstate and international scenes taking part. With a solid following of locals who are out to party and have a good time the vibe is very different to the everyday club stereotypes.


Needless to say we're very pleased to have such a talented artist on board to help us celebrate our 1st Birthday. We're looking heaps forward to hearing what this big gun pulls out for us.
