Can you guess which Aussie state was the first to sell out its upcoming Gunners show and demand another one? Where else but Queensland.

Axl might have a short fuse, BUT his music and his antics are typical of a mega star. His line-up is to be commended. The druming, the style, the guitar, everything is SO MUCH BETTER THAN the old stuff. His new lead guitarist has proved he is much better than what SLASH ever was. Don't take it from me, just go to: http://www.gunsnroses.us/ and listen/watch for yourselves. You be the judge. Axl's got my vote.

JUST SO YOU KNOW..... SLASH IS NOT THE ONLY GUITARIST THAT HAS CAUGHT HIS HAIR ON FIRE. Many have..... take Gene Simmons for instance.  Slash is just another good guitarist - not taking anything away from the MASTER.... but he is not the best. So he caught his hair on fire - so F$#@%$ing what. IT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE FRONT MAN that leads a band to success.... not the guitarist. AXL is and always will be the THE MASTER SHOWMAN of Guns & Roses. His "Chinese Democracy" is up there with the best G&R have produced. With or without Slash.

I didn't go because I didn't want to see the Axl Rose show. It isn't Guns N' Roses. Also, the guy who said the new line-up is better than the old line-up is an idiot. He is trying to justify for himself why he spent over a hundred dollars to see this crap, also the lead singer is no more important to a band's success than the rest of the band, if anything the singer is less important. Seriously, not many singers can be musical by themselves, but a guitarist needs only himself and his guitar to make something musical.

Fool! There has never in the history of music, a band that has gone on to do better than before without the lead singer. Not one. Every time the lead singer leaves, for what ever reason, the band disintegrates. Sure, there are good guitarists, everywhere. Take Jimmy Page..... he did not do any good, but Robert Plant did very very well. Take the horrible problem with INXS..... why even comment. Take the POLICE, as a matter of fact, Sting is, and will always be super, but look at the other guys..... take, lets see...... Skid Row, Van Halen, KISS (Paul Stanley recently did a tour to great acclaim), but how successful was Ace Freheley? Come one, I can keep on going. And for starters, look at the Velvet Revolver..... not doing very well, and if they succeed, it will be because of the lead singer. The success of the band will be because of Scott Weiland, and not Slash.

Scott is a master front man, and his song writing skills are exeptional. He is lucky to have Slash, but he Slash does not make the band.

    Period.

Shame on you. Joy Division did not break up..... like Guns & Roses. Ian Curtis died, and we all know how, God damn you, so, New Order went on to produce a whole lot of good stuff because the fans were still there... there was no "division" (pardon the punn) of fans, unlike the problem we have with G&R and Velvet Revolver.
    There is no comparison.

what do you mean shame on me?

The statement I was responding to claimed no band had ever had more success after its singer left, for WHATEVER REASON.
I think you'll find New Order did do better and the singer did leave (there's nothing more permanent than death), so the point remains. Nobody suggested Joy Division broke up so you're arguing with someone who isn't there.

Oh, and pun only has one 'n'.

    Hello

I still don't agree with you, as you can't compare leaving the band by dying, as compared to leaving the band 'cos you had an arguement with the rest of the band members. I cannot see how you can compare the two.

We will have to disagree here..... simply because I cannot recal people going to see Curtis play the harp.... and believe me, no matter how good his music in the sky could be, New Order, will always be better, that I grant you.

    Xandro.
