There are two films I saw on SBS awhile back, possibly two or three years ago. I really liked them, but for the life of me, can't remember their titles and can's seem to find any information about them on the net. I thought that if I described them maybe someone out there may know the names of these movies etc.

The first movie is a Russian movie. Its an unusual movie, basically it seems to begin with a particular scene in a restaurant around the turn of last century. A woman has some sort of disagreement with a man at their table. From there the film takes you into the lives of some of the other people that witnessed this scene in the restaurant and follow them in their daily lives and the lives of other people up to the present time that were somehow connected to them. This is very vague isn't it? Various scenes from the film follow people around, then the camera moves from them to another person they may pass, for example on the street, and follow them. The film seems to depict the interconnectedness of things and people. I hope that this gives someone an idea of which movie I am describing, I know it seem vague, however I think it is a brilliant film.....if only I could remember the title.

The second film, also aired on SBS, I think was a Persian film, possibly called Baba Ahazi, or something like that. The film told the story of an old blind man, that was lead around by a young girl. They were jouneying to a dervish gathering (I think). The film containes some interesting singing and philosophy from a dervish or someother Islamic Mystic perspective. I cant remember the exact title. As witht the first movie, maybe someone can help me find the title.
